WHITES
The Racecourse Lane 2003 Semillon - The fermentation was undertaken in cooled conditions to slow it down and maintain the fruit characteristics and the freshness of the wine. This has preserved the lemon citrus fruits the wine is renowned for. It is a developing wine still light and fresh and a wine ready for drinking now and will also keep for further 3+ years and develop as the traditional Hunter Semillons do. Dual Medal winner. LIMITED STOCK in Cork.
The Racecourse Lane 2004 Semillon - also used extended cooled fermentation. This wine is a traditional Hunter style Semillon exhibiting lemon and apple with a palate that is refreshing and long. Enjoy now or cellar for 4+ years. Gold medal winner. Cork closure.
The Racecourse Lane 2005 Semillon - was selectively picked by hand and fermented slowly at low temperatures to enhance fruit character and freshness. This has lead to an elegant traditional style exhibiting lemon citrus and apple richness, the palate is refreshing and long. This wine may be enjoyed while young or given 5+ years cellaring. Medal winner. In Stelvin only.
The Racecourse Lane 2003 Verdelho - SOLD
The Racecourse Lane 2004 Verdelho - had an excellent growing season and has given the seductive tropical aromas leading to a palate of rich tropical fruits with pineapple and lime citrus. Silver medal winner. Enjoy now or cellar for 3+ years. In cork or stelvin.
The Racecourse Lane 2005 Verdelho - the mild conditions of the 2005 ripening season has infused our 2005 Verdelho with tropical aromas. A full palate of rich tropical fruits with pineapple and citrus flavours follows. Crisp and refreshing while young, this wine will age well developing honeysuckle flavours. Medal winner. In Stelvin only.
For best drinking we suggest you serve the whites cooled, but not chilled.

REDS
The Racecourse Lane Shiraz always commences with extremely selective hand picking from our 4 acre Shiraz vineyard. We take some 3 tonnes only. This provides the choice fruit which is then fermented in an open vat with hand plunging. Following fermentation it was processed through the manual basket press and then matured in both new and shaved French oak hogsheads for 12 to 14 months.
The Racecourse Lane 2002 Shiraz - The finished wine exhibits the dark berry fruits and spice tones of the traditional Hunter Shiraz. This wine can be enjoyed now or will reward further cellaring for another 4 + years. SOLD
The Racecourse Lane 2003 Shiraz shows aromas of damson plum, mulberry and spice. The palate finishes with subtle tannins and well balanced acidity. Enjoy now or cellar for 5 plus years.
The Racecourse Lane 2004 Shiraz was basket pressed and then matured in French and American oak barrels for 9 months. The wine shows an earthy nose with plums, berry fruits and spice and a rounded palate with supple tannins. Cellar with care for 5 - 8 years.
The Sangiovese is a light fruity red. It is a drink now style of wine that will also develop with age. It is being very well received.

The 2004 Racecourse Lane Sangiovese - Great wine well received but now VERY LIMITED SUPPLY under cork for existing clients.
The 2005 Racecourse Lane Sangiovese - our own selectively hand picked estate grown fruit fermented in open vats then basket pressed and matured in 2 year old French barrels. This wine has a nose of cherries and plums with a palate of berry fruits. It has soft tannins and a well rounded mouth feel. This wine is ready for drinking now or cellar with care for up to 5 years. Stelvin closure.
We suggest with our reds, when young, to open them early and give them some air.
